Time for the Family to get Together

As October finishes and all the kids get passed their sugar high, the time for family to come together is just around the corner. Thanksgiving.... A time for my family to get together and eat as much as possible. Every year I always travel down to Fallbrook ( in California) where my grandparents live and get my fat on. My grandma is one of the best cooks I have ever had. She always sets out a feast of appetizers that alone could fill an army. Once everyone has enjoyed the appetizers, then the main course comes. She slow cooks a turkey in the oven and smokes a ham all day. It is truly a feast for days. We all sit down for dinner and enjoy the meal. We share family stories and recall the "DUH" moments everyone has had in the past. Once the meal is over we all make our way into the living room and watch the football game. We sip on some coffee and wait until or stomachs make enough room for the army of sweets and desserts that come. We always overdue it every year. We always have a ton of pies and enough sweets that you wont be able to stand the site of pie for weeks to come. I cant wait for thanksgiving. Its the first time I get to see my entire family together since I have left for college. It is a great time to see my family and spend time with them because I only get to see the entire family together twice a year. So in 12 days, I portion what I eat.. In 13 days I am traveling home!... and on the 14th day.... I'm gunna let my inner fat boy loose!
